OPTOMETRY (BL-OPT-IUBLA)



Job Summary



This is a part-time on-site Lab technician role at Dr. Raji Shyam's lab.


Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Responsible for managing the mouse colony including genotyping, weaning, and in-vivo experiments.

  • Aides the team in conducting research, data analysis, and utilizing laboratory skills to support various on-going projects in the lab.

  • Performs laboratory maintenance such as monitoring and managing the inventory, collecting packages, autoclaving, cleaning etc.




Qualifications



EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry)



WORK EXPERIENCE



Preferred



  • Experienced in animal handling, mouse breeding, genotyping, and weaning

SKILLS



Required



  • Ability to follow team member expectations outlined in the lab handbook

  • Strong Analytical Skills, Research, and Data Analysis capabilities

  • Effective Communication skills

  • Proficiency in laboratory skills including Western Blotting, immunohistochemistry, cell culture

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment




Additional Information



This position is funded through August 2025.



Work Hours



Position may be scheduled up to 29 hours per week.
