Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Experienced GPS IIF Software Engineer IMOSC to join our GPS Block IIF Integrated Mission Operations Support Center (IMOSC) team located at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) in Colorado Springs, CO.

This position is on the Global Positioning System (GPS) sustainment program located at SSFB, about 15 miles east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. GPS is a satellite-based radionavigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force. GPS is the world's largest military satellite constellation and is the world's only global utility. It provides position, navigation, and timing data to military and civilian users globally with countless applications and an unlimited number of users.

Boeing has over 45 years of history in GPS, to include achieving full system capability in 1995. The current Boeing GPS sustainment team supports the U.S. Space Force by sustaining and monitoring the health and capabilities of the 12 GPS Block IIF satellites in the GPS constellation launched from 2010 to 2016. The Boeing team also provides support to its U.S. Space Force customer with performance reporting and with expertise on all aspects of the GPS system. Sustainment efforts will continue through the life of the Block IIF satellites, with a design life expectancy of 2028 and beyond.

Leads the design, development, analyses, and maintenance of software systems that meet industry, customer and internal quality, safety, security and certification standards. Partners with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and reviews translation of system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer, operational and performance requirements and have clear traceability to design, code and test artifacts. Reviews completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk, issues and opportunities; leads integration and deployment of mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle. Leads code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standard. Leads monitoring and reviewing test completion, verification processes and issue resolution for software systems. Leads development of user documentation and training to educate end users about usage of software products. Leads review of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by tracking and evaluation of internal team and supplier performance. Leads implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development. Leads software project management and software supplier management activities.

Position Responsibilities:
• Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
• Gathers information to support software project management
• Executes test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Develops, selects, tailors, and deploys software processes, tools, and metrics
• Executes and documents software research and development projects.
• Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend, and develop a solution
• Develop and maintain teaming relationship with operational Customer.
• Support SME requests and critical operational events
• Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Coding Challenge:
To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in developing software unit tests and automated functional testing
• 2+ years of experience using Agile Methodology
• 1+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with GitLab

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 3+ years of experience with LabVIEW Software Tool Development
• Knowledge of, and experience with, Global Positioning System (GPS)
• Knowledge of, and experience with, space vehicle flight software
• Proven ability to plan, schedule, and deliver quality software
• Experience and ability to support Government security requirements and best practices for software delivery involving system accreditation
• Experience programming with Microsoft .NET/C#, VBA, SQL Server, and Access

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level: $107,100 - $144,900
