Caterpillar is seeking a Facilities Engineering Manager in Sanford, NC. This role Manages facilities & maintenance activities for Caterpillar's Sanford, NC sites. This is a unique position that will require work hours that vary from a typical schedule. There will be times when the successful candidate will be required to support activities and installations during weekends, holidays, and plant shutdowns.

This position will often be required to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will bring with them excellent communication skills and a track record of strict adherence to project management disciplines to effectively manage project scope, timing, costs, and budget. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a history of progressive levels of leadership & project management accomplishments across their career.

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Aligns actions with enterprise values, purchasing practices, and budget demands.
• Supervises a team of Facilities professionals and manages team performance using KPI's.
• Collaborates with the third-party Maintenance provider to safely maximize asset utilization and uptime.
• Collaborates with third-party service providers to identify, scope, and achieve joint process improvement goals.
• Manages costs to ensure alignment with Enterprise business expectations.
• Implements policies, procedures, & programs to ensure well managed & maintained buildings & facilities.
• Resolves routine Facilities & Maintenance issues; escalates non-routine issues up chain of command.
• Identify, scope, quote, and execute Facility improvement projects on time and on budget.
• Research alternative vendors or suppliers; leads process of supplier selection.
• Works with suppliers to ensure that purchases meet delivery date, budget, and quality specifications.
• Works collaboratively state & local government agencies to meet fire & building code requirements.
• Leads use of RCCA & A3 problem solving tools to mitigate risk of downtime or process failures.
• Oversees inspections, repairs, updates of facilities, and relevant operational assets / activities.
• Evaluates the operation's effectiveness with current utilities and equipment.
• Identifies, anticipates, and mitigates risks & challenges to the facility.
• Uses fact-finding techniques, data, and diagnostic tool as to identify problems.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

• Manufacturing Application Systems: Knowledge of company and industry databases and applications used in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate, maintain and update these systems.
• Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
• Plant Facilities Management : Knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
• Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a project management role.
• Significant experience using Microsoft Office 365 or similar Microsoft applications.
• Experience successfully leading teams that maintain Mechanical & Electrical building systems.
• Experience in a Facilities and/or Maintenance role.
• Experience successfully managing third party service providers.
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Experience successfully leading teams that maintain Mechanical & Electrical building systems.

The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.

Summary Pay Range:
$123,480.00 - $185,280.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
