The POD Float Pool seeks skilled Staff Nurses who will be expected to scrub and circulate several services to cover MOR, ASC, SFCH, Downtown Campus, and North Liberty Campus.
Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to:
Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
Participates in projects/committees for enhanced functioning of the unit and supports unit level decision-making.
Utilize critical thinking skills with adult population across all services in acute and ambulatory setting
Prepare and educate patients for discharge following ambulatory procedures.
Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of an interdisciplinary plan of care.
Participates in the orientation of new staff and the ongoing education of personnel, as directed by the Nurse Manager or designee.
Applies quality improvement principals to improve patient outcomes.
Adheres to UIHC policies regarding personal conduct, including: follows established leadership, remaining responsive to instruction and coaching from supervisors and meeting the standards of personal appearance, attendance and punctuality.
Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: Monday-Friday 10-hr shifts with no call. One weekend per 4-week schedule with holidays as needed.
Location: University Campus, UIHC Downtown Campus, or UIHC North Liberty Campus
Salary: $60,589 (at 100% effort) to commensurate *this does not include inpatient or shift differential
Pay Differentials: Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Inpatient differentials up to $5,000 per year

Education Required
An Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
Experience Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Proven capacity to function with a high degree of autonomy while actively collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to scrub and circulate in several perioperative units
Desirable Qualifications:
2 years of Staff Nurse Experience in an OR setting, preferably in an academic Medical Center
Knowledge of university policies and procedures
