We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Sr. Business Operations Manager to lead global initiatives that support engineering and product teams in delivering best-in-class payment solutions and next-generation payments technologies. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, enabling cross-functional alignment, and ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives that advance our payments platform.

This team is part of the CTO's organization and designing future-forward technologies and experiences to enable global commerce. Platform technologies built by this team will be instrumental in helping drive PayPal's global reach through best-in-class technology solutions.



Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in business analytics, leadership reporting, and program management. They will play a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making, overseeing global projects, and fostering collaboration across teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions.



Your day-to-day:




Build and execute operational strategy:



  • Drive strategic planning, execution, and coordination of global initiatives to support engineering and product teams in building cutting-edge payment technologies.

  • Develop and manage dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights for leadership and track the performance of key initiatives.

  • Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to align priorities, identify dependencies, and streamline processes across global operations. Proactively identify risks and challenges within initiatives, develop mitigation plans, and drive resolution in partnership with stakeholders.

  • Design and implement strategies to support diverse regional payment needs, regulatory requirements, and operational challenges.




Scale cross-functional initiatives:



  • Oversee and manage multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, resource allocation, and timely delivery of milestones.

  • Support geographically distributed teams with tailored frameworks and tools that address regional needs, regulatory requirements, and cultural considerations.

  • Support product and engineering teams in launching innovative solutions by providing operational support, insights, and frameworks that accelerate development and deployment.




Leadership communications:



  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and updates to communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes of initiatives to senior leadership.

  • Represent the organization internally and externally with clarity and confidence, communicating the value and vision of the platform to senior executives, partners, and stakeholders.




What you need to bring:



  • 8+ years of experience in business operations, program management, or a related role, preferably in payments technologies or financial technology sectors.

  • Strong experience with analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Excel) to create dashboards, analyze data, and deliver insights that drive decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare executive-level reports and presentations, distilling complex information into clear, actionable insights.

  • Expertise in managing complex initiatives, with a strong ability to prioritize, allocate resources, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong communication skills in English and ability to drive cross-functional leadership needed.

  • Prior experience in financial technologies, banking, and finance sectors in global markets is a plus.

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a technical-related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$82500 to $187990


For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.
