Job Description Summary:

PayPal is committed to building and scaling the next generation of payment integration technologies for merchants, consumers, and developers globally. We are seeking a highly skilled and technical Sr. Product Manager, Core Platform Technologies to design and deliver best-in-class payment solutions for global merchants and customers.


In this role, you will be responsible for building robust platform technologies that enable seamless integration in environments (sandbox and live), testing, monitoring, and performance management of payment services. Your expertise in telemetry, real-time statistics, SLAs, and alerting will be essential in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the payment ecosystem.

This team is part of the CTO's organization and designing future-forward technologies and experiences to enable global commerce. Platform technologies built by this team will be instrumental in helping drive PayPal's global reach through best-in-class technology solutions.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of platform engineering and product management, driving the development of solutions that provide actionable insights and real-time visibility into payment services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver platforms that meet the needs of global merchants and developers while ensuring world-class operational excellence.



Your day-to-day:




Testing and integration environments:



  • Define and execute the product roadmap for core platform technologies that enable integration, testing, monitoring, and optimization of payment solutions.

  • Develop self-service environments that allow merchants and developers to test payment solutions, validate integrations, and ensure compliance with platform standards.




Platform performance management:



  • Implement robust alerting frameworks and tools to monitor payment service performance and proactively address potential disruptions.

  • Define and monitor SLAs for payment services, ensuring high availability, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Create tools and frameworks that empower developers to integrate with and monitor payment services effortlessly.

  • Define metrics for service & application performance, reliability, and adoption. Leverage tools and dashboards to monitor usage and proactively address issues to maintain high service levels.

  • Design solutions that can scale to meet the demands of global merchants and customers, ensuring reliability in high-volume environments.




Scale solutions using voice of customer:



  • Analyze service usage data, developer feedback, and industry trends to inform priorities, identify areas for improvement, and drive adoption strategies.

  • Partner with engineering, design, marketing, and support teams to deliver solutions that align with platform goals and user needs.




What you need to bring:



  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a focus on platform technologies, payment systems, or infrastructure solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of payment platforms, telemetry systems, and monitoring tools. Experience working with APIs, SDKs, and backend systems is essential.

  • Expertise in building testing environments, monitoring frameworks, and alerting systems for critical services.

  • Deep understanding of service level agreements (SLAs), uptime requirements, and operational excellence in payment platforms.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field is helpful in this role.

  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills required.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$64000 to $156750


For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.
