Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Human Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of human genetics, and may include expertise in one or more of the following: computational biology, statistical genetics, population genetics, biomedical informatics, complex genetics, pharmacogenetics/genomics, functional genomics, structural variation analysis, cancer genetics, human phenomics, and genomic medicine. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to human genetics, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators or independently, and active leadership in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
Applicants must have demonstrated substantial experience in aspects of human genetics research as detailed above, with a track record of publication and good communication skills.
The faculty appointment will be in a department in the School of Medicine that is consistent with the scientific expertise of the successful candidate. Opportunity for a faculty appointment in a second department may be available.
