Job Summary:Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport of women's volleyball and assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of districtwide intramural programs. Collaborate with fitness center managers.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for intramural programming, develop a schedule for facility use, including the fitness and weight rooms, gyms, racquetball courts, and other areas used for intramural activities.
Manage recruitment of prospective qualified student-athletes and intramural program participants.
Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director.
Ensure rules and regulations set forth by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Region V, and the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) are maintained, reviewed, and practiced.
Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, meeting procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of volleyball.
Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.
Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual athletes.
Organize and plan all practice sessions, game strategies, and on and off-season conditioning programs. Monitor academic progress and retention of all volleyball student-athletes.
Assist in developing budgets and expenditures for the volleyball and intramural programs.
Work collaboratively with fitness center managers to maintain consistency of services across the district. Monitor the behavior of participants, resolve situations, report injuries according to college procedures, assist referees during events, and respond appropriately to unpredictable circumstances (i.e., inclement weather, shortage of referees, etc.)
Control and maintain inventories for all intramural sports. Assist in developing, maintaining, and disseminating regulations and information for intramural programs.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.
Required
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in kinesiology or a related field and five (5) years of coaching experience as head or assistant coach at the college, high school level, or equivalent.
Preferred
Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Licenses and Certifications
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or nationally recognized certification) OR must obtain within 60 days of employment.
