Tutor SheltonSalary: $18.20 - $24.23 per hour*Classification: General TutorLocation: Shelton CampusReports to: Director of Tutoring *This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur.Olympic College is continuously recruiting for an Instruction & Classroom Support Tech- Tutor position that may occur throughout the year for various departments at the Shelton Olympic College Campus. This position will be responsible for helping students develop abilities in the discipline in which they are working. Disciplines are based on student needs and will include Biology, Chemistry, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, Mathematics, and Writing. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Providing academic support for students in one or more non-stem related subject areas.Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.Assist students in interpreting discipline-specific problems and situations.Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and/or communication skills.Assist students working in an online format.Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsReference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.High School Graduate, Equivalent or Current Running Start Student. Completion of course(s) to be tutored with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.Basic computer competency

Terms of Employment


Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week. Hours worked are limited to 79 hours per month or 450 hours in a 6-month period. Flexibility in scheduling is needed to meet the demands of the department. The salary for this position is $18.20 - $24.23 DOE per hour. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
