Position Title: VDI / Virtualization EngineerLocation: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, ALRelocation Assistance: None available at this timeRemote/Telework: NO - Not available for this positionClearance Type: DoD SecretShift: Day shift (Mon-Fri with periodic shift work)Travel Required: Up to 10% of the timeDescription of Duties:The VDI / Virtualization Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: • Design, deploy and support MDA's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Server Virtualization infrastructure.• Design and document installation and configuration solutions.• Manage the Citrix VDI, VMware VDI, server virtualization, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.• Deploy multi-server solutions to MDA's Cloud environments.• View and respond (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various administration and monitoring devices.• Attend various meetings (crew/team, staff, change, configuration, etc.).• Perform administration of VDI and virtual environments to include troubleshooting, break fix activities, the patching and remediation of servers, and system audit log reviews as necessary.• Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure, troubleshooting any system errors or user issues, tracking resource utilization and performance of systems, and performing modifications and upgrades as needed. • Must have 7 years of experience as a systems administrator/engineer in a medium to large Enterprise environment supporting a variety of operating systems.
• Must have 1 year of experience working in a management or leadership role.
• Must have experience with Enterprise level Virtualization products or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) products.
• Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or higher.
• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Requirements:
• Have current Citrix, VMware, or Azure certifications.
• Have experience with Citrix, VMware, or Azure VDI products.
• Have experience with VMware virtualization products.
• Have experience with Cloud Environments such as AWS and Azure.
• Have experience using Remedy software.
• Have experience supporting a DoD customer.
• Have experience documenting designs and performing installations of enterprise level infrastructure.
• Have experience with implementing Cyber-Security best practices.
This position is expected to pay $104,000 - $129,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
