Job Description:

What will you do?

The Material Handler stores, issues, delivers, receives, and maintains inventories on production and/or service department with raw stock, parts, work-in-process, finished goods, tools and supplies.


  • Prepares labels, packing slips, determine load number, pallet number, gross weight, etc. Perform data entry on computer associated with tracking shipments out and receipts in, print reports

  • Ensures count accuracy and quality of parts being transported with general inspection of product paperwork review

  • Makes boxes, supply cardboard flats, cardboard boxes, pallets, raw stock, JIT parts, etc. as needed to support production.

  • Transfers released orders to shipping and receiving and may operate dump station.


Shift:

3rd Shift - Sun - Thu (10:30PM - 6:51AM)

C Shift - Wed/Thu - Fri/Sat (7:00AM - 7:00PM)

What qualifications will make you successful?


  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.

  • Previous work experience preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to meet production requirements and keep truck loading/unloading equal to pace of production and/or to meet time constraints for shipments.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow procedures (both verbal and written English).

  • Ability to work safely, communicate effectively with supervisors and technical personnel, use good judgment, and work well around others.

  • Ability to enter data accurately into a computer.

  • Ability to cope with stressful situations, follow policies and procedures, solve problems, and maintain full commitment to the task.

  • Ability to utilize good time management skills and multitask without constant supervision.

  • Ability to operate various powered fork trucks, floor and table scales, stretch wrapper, automatic box former and other material handling equipment and successfully pass standardized exams for operator certification as appropriate.

  • Frequent standing and walking.

  • Frequent sitting on fork truck.

  • Frequent torso twist and lateral lean as position fork truck load.

  • Rare unilateral or bilateral full-extension backward reach with upper extremity to pull handcart or utilize powered handcart.

  • Occasional push/pull force of 5-45 lbs required to move product cages (empty or full).

  • Occasional forward flexion of the back while lifting cardboard box bundles (25 boxes) weighing. 24 lbs, boxes filled with product (20-33 lbs), tubs and totes (25-30) lbs from waist or floor height.

  • Occasional neck extension to view upper racks, placing product into CDO racks, etc.

  • Occasional left or right 0-85 degree rotation of head, remaining rotation to 95-100 degrees using torso twist, to drive and maneuver sit-down and stand-up fork trucks.

  • Rare bilateral finger pinch and grasp to insert and tighten baler wires, attach plastic ties, or wire ties to product cages.

  • Able to work 3rd shift. (10:30am-6:51am)
