Responsible for facility-level electrical engineering and design for low-voltage systems (480V and below) including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, special systems, and motor controls using the National Electrical Code (NEC), governing building codes, and industry standards.
Perform electrical engineering and design in coordination with the Lead Electrical Engineer.
Handle a variety of engineering projects from conception through successful completion.
Perform field surveys as required to support design work.
Coordinate design requirements with other discipline engineers, architects, client representatives, facility operation personnel, and contractors.
Perform electrical system calculations including load analysis, short circuit calculations, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash studies using computer-based programs.
Assist in the development of equipment specifications based on company standards and specific client and equipment vendor requirements.
Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company design and production standards.
Review equipment submittals and shop drawings, prepare responses to RFI's, and create punch lists based on field observation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines from an accredited institution.
5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and design, focused on building systems.
Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT.
Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and Bluebeam.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in AGi32, Visual, or ElumTools.
Proficient in SKM PowerTools or ETAP.
Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) designation with the ability to obtain P.E. licensure.
Experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, and Laboratory industries is a plus.
