SUMMARY
The VMware Cloud Administratoris responsible for the virtualization environments that support day to day operations at IHS. The position will provide customer technical guidance and leadership on configuration and maintenance of the already existing private cloud environments. The individual in the position will need to be proficient in both Windows and Linux Server Administration. This full-time position is 100% onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Must be able to obtain a IHS Public Trust Security clearance for access to facilities, equipment and property.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain a IHS Public Trust Security clearance for access to facilities, equipment and property.
Minimum Bachelor's degree or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience, and highly prefer ten (10) years in information technology engineering, four (4) years of which should be related to supporting VMware products.
Hold either the VCP6.x-DCV or the VCPx-CMA and ideally hold both certifications.
Desired industry certifications from vendors such as Cisco, EMC, Citrix, AWS, CompTIA, and Microsoft are a plus.
Desired ITIL Foundation certification
Multiple years of active delivery of IT projects based on VMware technologies.
Experience with Windows and Linux Administration.
Preferred experience a broad range of vSphere and vRealize design in medium to large environments.
Preferred experience with PowerCLI/Powershell.
Preferred Knowledge of modern software development methodologies such as DevOps, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean.
Project management experience and familiarity is preferred.
Preferred experience delivering on infrastructure automation, hybrid cloud implementation, server and desktop virtualization, server consolidation.
Preferred experience creating vRO workflows and integrating those into vRA.
Preferred experience with storage area networks, network attached storage, and hyper converged storage (vSAN).
Preferred experience integrating Amazon's AWS into vRealize Automation environment.
Preferred experience integrating Microsoft's Azure into vRealize Automation environment.
Relevant experience, including customer-facing and IT consulting, with Public Sector customers.
Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent and confident communications and interpersonal skills.
Proficient organizational skills.
A high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Must have experience with at least one hybrid (private and public clouds) vRealize Automation deployment.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Required to work with VMware vCenter, VMware Aria Operations integrated with VMware Aria Operations for Logs, VMware Aria Automation and VMware Orchestrator to help plan, manage and scale SDDC and multi-cloud environments with unified monitoring, automated performance management, cloud planning and capacity optimization, as a Cloud Management subject matter expert.
Patches and maintains existing VMware environment.
Maintains ESXi and vCenter hosts and virtual machines already hosted in the existing environments.
Maintains Oracle Linux Administration and Patching (Oracle).
Maintains F5 Big-IP LTM Load Balancing Administration and Patching.
Maintains system, security, implementation, best practice, run books, operational, end user training, and network documentation.
Coordinates activities to support the virtualization environment with the various teams.
Integrates hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) into the existing and new environments.
Implements pilot projects based on VMware technologies (VCF, NSX).
Develops and maintains test scripts and ensure proper execution of all scripts.
Documents test results in the proper log and/or tracking systems.
Ensures that all documentation on processes and procedures are available and updated regularly.
Ensures that test designs and documentation support selected client, agency or industry standards and timelines.
Executes defined test cases and procedures as detailed in the test documentation.
Formulate and define specifications for operating system applications, or modify and maintain existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.
Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities independently.
Provides reporting on an ad-hoc basis for the environment and duties.
