Indiana University's central marketing and communications team is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Digital Strategy team as a Constituent Experience Specialist. This role focuses on building and deploying large-scale email messages while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables align with best practices.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support for email marketing as well as constituent experience strategies across the university.
Creates and delivers mass email messages to support marketing and communication objectives.
Works closely with communications, creative, and content teams to ensure messages are optimized for the channel and constituent experience.
Works with colleagues to translate business needs into effective digital marketing outputs.
Uses personalization strategies and marketing technology to craft more effective and engaging messages.
Helps plan and implement multi-message, multi-channel campaigns to achieve strategic outcomes.
Shares performance insights to drive continuous improvement of work.
Acts as a consultant and resource for email marketing and constituent experience best practices across Indiana University.
General Responsibilities
Develops marketing and creative strategies to promote Indiana University through digital channels and increase exposure to a target audience.
Develops targeting and segmentation approach for digital marketing strategies.
Reviews and analyzes usage trends and effectiveness of digital marketing strategies, recommend and implement changes as necessary.
Work with other marketing and web teams to identify a target market and create a marketing campaign for digital technologies.
Regularly consults with staff, faculty, colleagues, departments, and/or other stakeholders to curate content to specific programs, goals, audiences, and objectives.
Ensures alignment with university mission, strategies, objectives, and brand guidelines across all digital marketing platforms and content.
Designs user experience interfaces to ensure consistent and engaging platforms.
May plan and develops integrated digital advertising schedules.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
3 years in relevant field
Preferred
3 years in email marketing and communications or related work
Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email service providers (ESP).
Experience with SMS/MMS in marketing contexts

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Requires managing high-visibility, rapidly evolving projects with flexibility, strong collaboration, and rigorous quality control.
