The Role
Under the direction of Foreman, the Equipment Mechanic is responsible to fit and assemble component parts into sub- assemblies, etc. To deburr, paint, etc.
Requirements
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items
Receives drawings and instructions from foreman or a group leader.
Gathers materials, parts etc. for sub- assemblies, inventory, or storage areas, as required.
Uses drawings and detailed instructions to determine assembly procedure, as directed.
Prepare parts and purchased material for assembly by cleaning, buffing, polishing etc.
Performs drilling, tapping, remain, scraping, deburring, painting, etc. for assembly.
Assembles component parts into sub-assemblies, such as keys on shafts fitting guards, etc.
Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, squares, scales, gauges, etc.
Handles material manually
Reports defective material
Maintains equipment and area in a clean and orderly manner.
Education and Experience
Highschool diploma or equivalent.
Physical Capabilities
Wear personal protective equipment most of the time
Ascend, descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs
Work in confined spaces
Work in proximity to loud equipment
Lift and carry or otherwise move 25 50 80 pounds regularly/occasionally
Respond quickly to sounds
Safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds
Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
Inspect, measure products and equipment
Use standard office equipment, move files, open filing cabinets and bend/stand as necessary
Mental Capabilities
Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
Organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis (longer than one month)
