The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The ideal candidate should have board certification in diagnostic radiology and have completed an ACGME-approved abdominal imaging fellowship program. Additionally, a minimum of three years of experience as a faculty radiologist at an academic radiology program is required.


Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision, teaching residents and fellows during readouts and conferences, and participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical sub-specialties. The education of medical students will be limited to those rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Pennsylvania Hospital. In addition, the candidate will prepare learning materials and lectures, teaching posters, and presentations for national review. The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator and be expected to serve in an educational leadership role within the Abdominal Imaging Division.


Clinical responsibilities may include Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, and Fluoroscopy of the body. Qualified candidates must have prior experience in image-guided biopsies. The successful candidate will participate in the Abdominal Imaging off-hour on-call program, including evenings, nights, and weekend coverage.


The successful candidate will report to the Chief of Abdominal Imaging at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and will split their time between the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). Specific administrative duties will include overseeing complete abdominal imaging services at PPMC. These oversight duties will involve working with technologists toward protocol optimization and harmonization within the Penn Medicine Health System. Additional opportunities will include the augmentation of image-guided biopsy services at PPMC and the development of clinical research programs in abdominal imaging.


Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia is the Level I Trauma Center of the Penn Medicine Health System and a tertiary care center serving the West Philadelphia population. PPMC hosts the University of Pennsylvania academic programs in trauma surgery, orthopedic surgery, rheumatology, and the Scheie Eye Institute. The academic practices at PPMC span all aspects of medical and surgical oncology, neurology/neurosurgery, urology, cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, gastroenterology, endocrine disease, obstetrics, and orthopedic surgery. The in-patient and out-patient radiology center at PPMC performs 140,000 exams annually and houses state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including 1.5T and 3T MRI, dual-energy CT, and US.


Penn Radiology provides clinical services for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and affiliated outpatient imaging centers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
