We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechatronics and Robotics within the Talwar College of Engineering and Computer Sciences. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the academic and professional growth of our students while being part of a dynamic and inclusive academic community.
As a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Mechatronics and Robotics at Indiana Institute of Technology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic journey of our students. This tenure-track, 9-month teaching position involves teaching both face-to-face and online courses, with a focus on industrial automation, control systems, and robotics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses per semester, developing and improving programs and curricula, particularly in the online modality, and maintaining academic records to assist in specialized accreditation. Additional responsibilities include holding eight office hours per week, collaborating with other degree programs, advising students, and participating in student recruiting and retention initiatives. The candidate will also be expected to engage in professional development, service to the college, and support efforts to increase access and success in higher education for underrepresented students. To be considered for this role, you must hold a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a closely related field. College-level teaching experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience in online teaching and curriculum development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to mentor and advise students, work effectively with a diverse student population, and use technology proficiently in their teaching. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. The position requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate early morning, evening, or weekend work, as well as responsiveness and availability over the summer to support university initiatives.
