Department Summary


The UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) provides clinical services to support learning, development, community participation, and quality of life of individuals on the autism spectrum. KFAC offers programming for early childhood as well as middle childhood/adolescence. In addition, KFAC offers specialized programming for children with challenging behaviors that interfere with access to age-appropriate activities.



Position Overview


This position is responsible for directing all aspects of training and related operations at the UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC). The person in this position will develop policies and procedures for training all levels of KFAC clinical staff, UNT and external undergraduate and graduate students, KFAC caregivers, and other members of the community, including professional service providers. The position will provide inputs for the development of the KFAC Strategic Plan and oversee budget allocations for the KFAC's core training mission.



Minimum Qualifications


Master's Degree in a related field and four years of professional related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology and related fields of study providing extensive knowledge of issues, research practices, and treatments for clients with autism spectrum disorder.



Preferred Qualifications



  • 5 to 7 years of experience, especially advanced experience and skills in leading and managing behavior analysts, behavior technicians, and/or special education professionals/paraprofessionals or other service providers is necessary to excel at this position.

  • Coursework, formal training, or previous experience in instructional design.



Required License/Registration/Certifications



  • Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) is required to be qualified for this position.

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

  • Behavior Analyst



Job Duties:



  • Models core organizational beliefs, values, and expectations.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains current and aligned KFAC training in appropriate formats including electronic distributions.

  • Leads, manages, and directs community training events and activities.

  • Follows UNT and departmental policies and procedures, legal requirements, verbal/written directives, and Professional Codes of Ethics and Standards.
