Position Summary:
The Student Leadership & Engagement Student Assistant supports the strategic and daily operations of Student Leadership & Engagement by serving as front-line customer service and assisting guests by applying various communication and approaches. This position supports daily operations, special events, special projects, and marketing efforts. The Leadership & Engagement Student Assistant demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of community college students' diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and racial/ethnic backgrounds. This position may use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:


1. Provide excellent front-line customer service and answer questions through various forms of communication, including face-to-face, telephone, email, and text.2. Support daily operations including answering phones and emails, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, making popcorn, distributing tickets, and maintaining food pantry inventory.3. Assist with campus events including set up, execution, and clean up.4. Assist with marketing of events including creating fliers, social media entries, FCC events calendar, weekly student newsletter submissions5. Apply customer service skills, including active listening, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and the ability to respond appropriately to diverse groups of people in various situations. 6. Articulate policies, procedures, and regulations for students, visitors, and the public. 7. Maintain data confidentiality and integrity, and ensure compliance with FERPA. 8. Work on special projects from departments as needed. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma/GED2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.3. Must be a student who is term activated and enrolled at FCC.

Work Schedule:




Between 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday
This is a part-time job, and student hours may vary.
