Salary Range: $86000 - $141800 Salary

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At One Call, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $86000 - $141800 Salary

JOB SUMMARY:



The Technical Product Manager is responsible for managing the technical investment to align with the needs of the organization, clients, providers, and injured workers. This role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their technical needs and what drives those needs. Technical Product Managers transform needs into technical projects by identifying requirements that meet those needs along with costs, values, and risks. The team works with leadership and stakeholders to prioritize and organize all the potential projects into roadmaps and backlogs based on the return on investment, feasibility, resource availability, risks, and organizational priorities. For approved projects, Technical Product Managers collaborate with Product Designers, Project Managers, and technical teams to ensure the successful design and delivery. They are responsible for gathering, drafting and validating business requirements, prioritizing features and functions, and monitoring post-deliverable success metrics to ensure the project meets or exceeds expectations.

Intermediate professional role. Will be expected to own small to mid-sized projects and support larger initiatives including being responsible for developing business cases and business requirements, managing backlogs and roadmaps and serving as the roadmap subject matter expert to the business and technology teams. Typically requires at least two years of experience in similar roles.



GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Investigate new technical efforts, projects, and offerings for definition and viability, identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and identifying high-level value, costs, risks, and other project-critical nuances.

  • Build business cases for viable technical projects and facilitate strategic and/or tactical go/no-go decisions for investment and prioritization of new technical efforts, projects, and offerings.

  • Maintain and communicate technical product and solution roadmaps (i.e., scheduled projects) and prioritized backlogs (i.e., yet-to-be scheduled projects).

  • Monitor and communicate existing and planned investment within area(s) of ownership, ensuring that the roadmap is within the expected budget and facilitating strategic and/or tactical budget decisions as required.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned roadmaps and backlogs - including product/solution direction, market strategy, priorities, stakeholders, technical teams, challenges and risks, and dependencies.

  • Draft and validate business requirements for projects/programs, defining the minimum and stretch requirements that the project/program must achieve in order to be successful.

  • Work with the Product Designers and technical teams to ensure business requirements are fully understood and built accordingly.

  • Manage issues and escalations that arise during project development, such as reprioritizing or redefining requirements due to feasibility issues or facilitating a go/no-go decision if priorities and/or budgets shift.

  • Monitor technical and industry trends in area(s) of ownership - both independently and through collaboration with internal and external experts as appropriate. Identify opportunities and threats and make strategic recommendations.

  • May conduct focus groups, surveys or other customer/provider/user-facing data gathering exercises to identify, design, and/or validate roadmaps, projects, and/or strategies.

  • May represent organization as subject matter expert for area(s) of ownership in external and/or public settings such as during sales events, industry conferences, or customer meetings.




EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or business-related field, or equivalent education, training and relevant work experience.

  • Two (2) years of experience in Information Technology in software development or delivery, software administration, or user experience, or in-depth experience using or supporting users of software solutions.

  • Ability to engage with developers/engineers, stakeholders, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.

  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to both internal and external audiences.

  • Ability to set priorities and resolve issues in initial stages.

  • Ability to become expert in the functionalities, benefits, and capabilities of the current products.

  • Ability to evaluate key metrics to optimize performance and work with product management analytics tools.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.

  • Demonstrates track record for managing successful projects from feature definition to project deployment.
