Job Description
As an AI/ML Engineer Intern in our Digital Innovation Team, you will participate in the development of our next generation VisionAI Solution Stack. It sits at the heart of our Intelligent Sensing Strategy. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of related AI/ML efforts including our Intelligent Automation Strategy, as well as Lamb Weston's GenerativeAI Strategy: Intelligent Interactions. The ideal candidate must have an insatiable appetite for technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) activities.
Additionally, you must be familiar with Software Engineering patterns and practices with applicable experience coding in Python or C++ or other object-oriented languages. Experience with programing for VisionAI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Neural Networks is preferred. Preference may be given to candidates that have experience with Applied Innovations like Robotics.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Manage a backlog of work items such as writing & developing code and testing & correcting bugs.
Support and build solutions to meet challenging use cases.
Work to develop and train a Machine Learning Model
Create documentation and conduct Peer Code Reviews
Collaboratively design and build Hardware Component Assembly
Communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner
May perform additional projects upon request
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Must be a current Senior, Master's or PhD student enrolled in a related program: Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field
Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred
Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to meet the Lamb Weston Authorized Driver standards
An understanding of computer systems and processes to apply skills to support business integrations
Familiarity with Python, C++, Cloud (AWS / Azure) or other languages is preferred
Familiarity of PyTorch and related libraries
Familiarity with Object Detection APIs, for example Detectron(2) or MMDetection
DevOps and understanding CICD Pipeline is preferred
Code Repository Management
Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Experience with Rasperry Pi or other discreet/embedded compute systems is preferred
