Job Summary:

TheCenter for Indigenous Health Research and Policy at Oklahoma State UniversityCenter for Health Sciences is a leading research center for Indigenous health.Our research funding totals more than $10 million, including four active R01randomized intervention trials funded by the National Institutes of Health. Wealso house the Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity, funded bythe Office of Minority Health, which provides training in research andintervention for American Indian and Alaska Native communities across the US.


Thisposition will provide essential support for research projects within the Centerfor Indigenous Health Research and Policy (CIHRP). This position will assistwith human subjects applications and management as well as developing studyprotocols. This position will assist with data management and collection,preparing manuscripts for publication, budget maintenance, and day to day studyoversight.



Responsibilities can include:

- Point person for local data and network data. Collect and organize site data
- Electronically submit research documents to the University study site
- Monitor upcoming tasks at the project site
- Gather, record, scan, organize and transcribe research study data
- Attend site meetings and weekly all-staff team meetings
- Assist in the day-to-day implementation of all study procedures for recruitment, study intervention, and data collection, maintain tracking progress to ensure study progress along with established timelines and implementation of the - research protocol
- Recruit and screen new participants for projects and research. Present all informed consent material for each new participant, ensuring each participant understands the study, the data that is being collected, and confidentiality
- Perform data collection (questionnaires, observational data, medical records, record audio, video, etc.) Ensure data is properly stored according to policy and procedure
- Administer the study intervention program and follows all data collection protocols
- Maintain project files and participant's documents organization system ensuring compliance to IRB regulation. Maintain confidentiality of participant records
- Assist in communicating with community agencies (clinics, labs, etc.)
- Assist with purchasing including purchase requests, ordering, and reimbursements
- Assist with travel requests, arrangements, and travel reimbursement requests
- Ship materials as needed to project sites
- Assist with coordination of payments to participants and billing procedures related to study visits including purchasing, tracking, distributing, and internal audit
- Travel as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk,finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and perform repetitive motions with orwithout reasonable accommodations.

Special Instructions to Applicants Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Required:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Two (2) years of college-level course work in a relevant academicarea or equivalent experience
- One (1) year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience



Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:


- Proficient with MS Office software, including Word and Excel
- Must have strong written/oral communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects
- Work hours must be flexible to include evenings and weekends when necessary
- Possession of a valid and current driver's license by the time of hire



Preferred:

- Knowledge of and experience in working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities
- Experience working in a research environment
- Excellent proofreading skills, and strong attention to detail
- Experience working with internet applications
