Workforce Trainers provide skills-based training and experiences in a traditional or non-traditional classroom setting and/or lab environment. The instruction provided will be specific to participants enrolled in Workforce Education offerings across the career continuum including, but not limited to career starters, career changes, and those seeking career advancement. Workforce Trainers must utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and levels of experience. Must be comfortable providing one-on-one mentorship and support to trainees, guiding them through complex and practical applications.


This role involves conducting hands-on training and evaluating student performance to ensure they meet industry standards. In addition to teaching students, the Workforce team oftentimes works with employers to deliver customized training solutions. Therefore, the qualified trainer will be able to participate in training needs assessment using various techniques, conduct interactive and engaging training for individuals, groups and companies using alternative and non-traditional methodologies appropriate and effective for working with adult learners. Individual will work with the Workforce Education Program Manager to prepare and/or select education materials and assist with the development and/or evaluation of new curricula and program designs. The trainer will collaborate with industry partners to align training with current workforce needs.


Waubonsee's inaugural Industrial Maintenance non-credit program will provide learners with the opportunity to participate in short-term, stackable credential-bearing courses. As the instructor you will need to be proficient with technology as e-curriculum will be incorporated, as well as be comfortable with tabletop trainers to demonstrate hands-on exercises. The instructor is responsible for making recommendations on updating training materials to reflect current industry practices and technological advancements. 


The ideal candidate will have competencies in the following (but not limited to): schematics, ladder diagrams, troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, demonstrating training techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems, safety principles, and a familiarity with predictive maintenance. 



Minimum Qualifications



College degree in related field OR industry-recognized credential in discipline of instruction OR equivalent work-related experience in a manufacturing-related environment.


Previous experience in training or education is highly desirable.
