The University of Miami Health System Department of Radiology - Vascular Interventional has an exciting opportunity for a full time Clinical Business Operations Representative to work at Desai Sethi Medical Center in Miami. The incumbent facilitates the prompt resolution of problems related to pre and post care that arise in daily clinical operations. The incumbent in this position performs general administrative and receptionist functions, to include answering incoming calls, efficient management of patients, and the acquisition of necessary patient care and records. This role will also assist patients in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner and ensure adherence to divisional and departmental service standards.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists the department in managing expectations surrounding pre and post patient care.
Supports department and/or department leadership with daily clerical tasks.
Obtains or reviews all patient demographic information, insurance information and referral numbers.
Reviews clinical records for completeness including authorization, signatures, missing data, and other patient information.
Answers multiple telephones for the department: triage incoming calls, responds to questions, directs calls, and documents messages in the appropriate software.
Greets visitors and callers, handles their inquiries, and directs them to the appropriate staff according to their needs.
Works cooperatively with fellow employees to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the practice.
Provides coverage for responsibilities of co-workers when assigned or as the need arises.
Develops and promotes the use of effective methods of communicating with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff on a regular basis.
Maintains confidentiality of all information.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
Answers patient calls and on-line messages and assists in resolving requests (i.e., prescription refills, pre-authorizations, etc.)
Work closely with the HHT COE Team to assist with patient coordination and care.
Effective cooperation and communication with HHT multidisciplinary team physicians and staff.
Provides patient care coordination.
Schedules patient visits, procedures, etc.
Request patient records and scan to patient's chart.
Request imaging disks and reports and have uploaded to patient's chart.
Collects subjective and objective health status data from multiple sources, which includes the patient, family members, team members and documented records. Identify at-risk family members of affected patients and coordinate screening/genetic testing/imaging/labs.
Work directly with the department of Genetics for genetic testing for patients and families with suspected HHT.
Request imaging and lab orders for confirmation of any AVMs.
Work closely with the HHT multidisciplinary teams to include ENT, Genetics, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Neurology, Pulmonology and Cardiology for additional patient work up.
Patient follow up care to confirm all appointments with imaging, labs, multidisciplinary team appointments are being completed
Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records system
Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy and at a reasonable rate of speed.
Skill in data entry or typing.
Assists with coordination of meetings and takes detailed minutes, as needed.
Contacts or responds to contacts from high-ranking individuals inside or outside of the corporation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree, preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Skill in collecting, organizing and analyzing data.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
