The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicant must have a PhD in cancer biology, immunology, or virology field, including a post-doctoral fellowship. They must also have at least two years of post-doctoral training.
Responsibilities may include Experimental design; performing and analysis of complex in vivo and in vitro experiments; animal experiments and husbandry; immunology, cell biology, and multi-omic experimental knowledge and analysis (i.e. flow cytometry, single cell RNA sequencing, multiplex immunohistochemistry analysis); manuscript preparation and grant writing.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to engage in exciting, high-impact research in brain tumors and brain immunology. They will be exposed to the latest state-of-the-art technologies. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to write at least one high impact paper every two years (impact factor > 12) as first author.
