The dean reports directly to the University's Provost and Executive Vice President, Dr. Quentin Kidd. The successful candidate should have the ability and interest to develop, articulate, and execute a shared vision for the school. The dean should have a strong commitment to supporting the educational mission of the University, with high standards in teaching, research, and service, as well as having the skillsets to serve as the chief spokesperson and advocate for the Luter School of Business both within and outside of the University.

The Dean is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Luter School of Business, including managing administrative staff and processes, exercising prudence and foresight to establish and administer the budgets of the School, working closely with the Provost Office, maintaining the commitment to the School's AACSB accreditation and ensure compliance with the accreditation standards, and maintaining and furthering developing an inclusive environment within the School.

Must hold an advanced degree, preferably in business or a closely related field.
In addition to the work tasks listed above, must have either held a position at the level of Dean, Associate Dean, or Department Chair, or a distinguished position of leadership in the public or private sector and are ready and able to assume a challenging academic career focusing on college administration.
