University Major Gifts (UMG) is comprised of regionally focused field staff who work throughout the United States to build and maintain relationships with Stanford alumni, parents and friends to advance Stanford's mission. Staff in Major Gifts collaborate with their colleagues in schools and units, Principal Gifts, and Class Giving to coordinate activity with donors, volunteers, and potential donors.
Position Summary:The Program Manager will report directly to the Associate Director of Development Operations and Strategic Reporting and will work closely with the Executive Director, Regional Directors, Associate Director of Development Programs and Operations, and all members of the UMG team to help ensure the program runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with evolving priorities and best practices. She/he/they will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the University Major Gifts department and its goals and processes. Projects will be both assigned and of their own design to enhance our major gift and engagement efforts. Excellent collaboration with team members, attention to detail, and follow through is critical for success.
In this role, you will:

    Demonstrate strong knowledge of the program's operations and reporting needs and capabilities.Respond to inquiries, determine, and take appropriate action as required.Participate in critical analysis of existing systems and processes and identify opportunities for process improvement. Document processes and communicate procedural changes to the UMG team.Track, analyze, and report on fundraising progress through weekly gift reports, quarter and annual reports.Build and run department-wide reports to support fundraising strategies and work with teams on data requests for regional strategy.Monitor and manage department budgets. May also verify expenses as needed.Manage the onboarding process for the department.Keep up to date on technical tools and serve as a team expert.Lead the implementation of data standards and common data elements for data collection. Train others as needed.Contribute to department strategy and assist in the development of change management plans and materials as needed.Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion.Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
    Bachelor's degree and three years relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.Outstanding communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.Excellent interpersonal skills and high EQ, and ability to interact with and adapt to a wide range of people at different levels of an organization.Ability to be a thought partner and demonstrate critical thinking in a changing environment.Strong data analysis skills including experience gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and communicating and presenting results and recommendations in a succinct fashion to key stakeholders.Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and database applications.Anticipate the needs of the team, proactively prevent issues, and independently solve problems.
The expected pay range for this position is $99,015 - $126,383 per annum.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
