Job Title:Grants and Contract Management Analyst 3Department:FAES | Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering


Job Description Details: Grants and Contracts Specialist - will conduct pre-award activities in collaboration with principal investigators as part of the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Represents the organization in working with funding agencies and developing financial resources and programs. Collaborates with faculty and staff members on developing and implementing research budgets, programs and agenda. Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies and sponsors related to research. Provides administrative and analytical support to researchers and PI's in proposal preparation and contract and grant administration, including pre-award proposal initiatives, post-award management and closeout activities for federal, state, local and private sponsors. Forecasts, plans and manages research portfolios by identifying funding opportunities and reviewing guidelines; coordinating and developing proposals including budget development; reviewing proposals for institutional compliance including gathering institutional approvals; administering and monitoring awarded contracts and grants, including compliance with regulations, terms and conditions; and financial management and technical reporting.




Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.




Required Qualifications: Considerable grant or contract management experience; considerable knowledge of pre-award grant management process. The ability to perform the following essential skills and competencies: Possess time management ability, follow-through, organizational skills, and attention to detail; be capable of multi-tasking, problem solving, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills; Be self-motivated, and balance working autonomously as well as within a team; be comfortable with being flexible and adaptable performing in a high volume and deadline driven environment; Understand the importance and value in providing exceptional customer service; Possess the ability to review and interpret sponsor and University policies and procedures; Apply financial analysis and budgeting skills using Excel spreadsheets as a tool; Experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Qualtrics, or other desktop publishing software required.




Desired Qualifications: Certified Research Administration (CRA) certificate.

The salary range for this position $ 58,700.00 - $77,200.00/ annual with fulltime benefits.



The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
