The Senior Staff Process Engineer provides process engineering and technical support for the definition, development, execution and start-up of Enterprise's plants and pipelines, as well as supervising and training other Engineers. The Engineer, under the direction of the Manager, ensures that facility are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company's Engineering Guidelines and Specifications, Industry Codes & Standards, and Regulatory Agency requirements while also meeting functionality and performance requirements. In addition, the Engineer will provide process designs which are safe, cost effective, timely and functional. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise and train junior engineers working on other Capital Projects.
Support Capital Projects management staff in the guidance of contractors during the execution of projects.
Review contractor or vendor generated drawings, data sheets, specifications and calculations for compliance with Enterprise standards, guidelines and practices.
Set up process models in HYSYS or ProMax as the basis for new projects or process improvements.
Critically evaluate process models generated by Enterprise’s contractors.
Support Concept Development Engineering and Commercial Groups with process designs, case studies, material balance and utility consumption information.
Provide support and guidance on Process Safety Information.
Participate as HAZOP team member.
Participate as member of major incident investigation team.
Assist the Environmental Group by providing data for air permits for existing assets and new projects, or compliance verification.
Participate in the development of Best Practices and Standards.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
BS in Chemical Engineering is required.
A minimum of eighteen (18) years of engineering experience in a process plant environment, or related industry is required.
Experience with cryogenic processing, distillation, light hydrocarbons, dehydrogenation, isomerization, API Standards, OSHA 1910.119 (PSM), Pipelines, and Underground Storage is a plus.
Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.
Proficiency with Process Modeling using software Aspentech HYSYS and BR&E ProMax is strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team, are essential.
Must be proficient in balancing multiple priorities and activities, and be able to meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner.
Must be self-motivated and work with little daily oversight.
Must be willing and able to travel 10% with minimal overnights.
Must be detailed oriented with the ability to handle fast-paced projects with constantly changing priorities and scope.
Ability to quickly manage key deliverables and not get mired in extraneous details.
