POSITION SUMMARY:

KENT Nutrition Group, a division of KENT Corporation's family of companies, is actively seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all plant activities at our Waterloo, Iowa facility. This multifaceted role involves direct responsibility for various critical aspects of the plant’s operations. The Plant Manager is directly responsible for all plant activities. This includes but not limited to, overseeing the facilities, plant personnel, plant customer relations, plant operation, plant quality and plant maintenance. The plant manager will be responsible to ensure the plant is producing feed in accordance with all established policies and procedures.


  • This position is designed and intended to be performed in Waterloo, IA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assistant Plant Manager, Office Manager, Quality Supervisor, Maintenance Lead

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and train personnel at all positions.  Training to include job operation, efficient work strategies, safety and product quality procedures

  • Lead and manage department leads, assistant plant manager, office manager and other personnel

  • Prepare fiscal year plant goals and objectives providing quarterly updates to the regional operations manager

  • Develop and operate within an approved budget; areas of concentration to include staffing, supplies, maintenance, utilities and capital projects

  • Develop scheduled (preventative) maintenance programs for equipment and facilities

  • Develop and contribute to long term strategic planning for the plant

  • Satisfy all quality and regulatory requirements for all products

  • Implement the corporate safety programs

  • Coordinate with all departments such as marketing, nutrition, and sales to enable new product development and innovation

  • Positively manage customer relations both internal and external

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor’s degree

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of 5-10 years related work experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in leading and managing operational teams

  • Financial experience with P&L statements, budgets preparation and capital planning

  • Experience with regulatory agencies such as: FDA,OSHA, EPA

  • Additional training such as experience with GMPs, HACCP, SFSF

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Knowledge of Feed Mill operations preferred

TRAVEL:


  • Up to 10% travel for meetings or training may be required.
