About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Relationship Management Senior Manager / Commercial Banking Leader (CBL) for our Chicagoland market as part of Middle Market Banking Group. This key position is responsible for managing commercial banking relationship managers located in both our Chicago and Westchester office locations. The CBL can office from either of those locations. In this role, you will:
  • Act as an advisor to determine appropriate strategy and actions of team to guide, influence, develop, retain, and grow moderately complex client relationships through the art of relationship management, by understanding the needs and priorities of clients and financial decision makers, responding quickly, communicating proactively but strategically, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback.
  • Manage and develop team of relationship managers or relationship management managers with moderate complexity and risk in Commercial Banking on the structuring, modification, and renewal of complex cash flow, real estate loans, and certain other industry specific solutions, including leading the analysis of financials, presenting to clients, and engaging and influencing stakeholders and partners associated with function and affected by outcomes.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within function and across Commercial Banking Relationship Management
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of relationship management team to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables; interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior managers, interact directly with clients, represent the company externally, and lead a team to resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo's business objectives, by helping clients navigate processes and escalating inquiries when needed.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in area of responsibility; develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy, including mentoring less experienced individuals.
  • Lead team in driving relationship planning activities and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines by keeping information current in relevant systems.
  • Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision, leadership, and expertise on client and market needs that enable companywide strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and influence financial operations.
  • Lead team to offer the full suite of solutions to meet clients' needs, by developing best practices to engage product organizations and understand clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions.
  • Manage relationship management team to support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new Commercial Banking clients, focused on building long-term, profitable relationships through strategic leadership, excellent product knowledge, flawless deal execution, and superior customer service.
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 3+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing a team of relationship managers.
  • Experience effectively leading through change.
  • Commercial credit experience involving commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio credit.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, compliance, and underwriting requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group banking products, and the credit practices/operating risks associated with them.
  • Ability to motivate others to greater performance.
  • Ability to successfully develop and execute a business strategy and exceed goals with a results focus.
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Job Expectations:
  • Up to 30% travel
Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
