Position Summary
Manage the Tuckahoe Holding’s Risk Management program. Assist with development, implementation, management, and improvement of the plan for health and safety performance. Coordinate a system to measure and monitor progress of each operating company against the program standards. Educate and train employees in health and safety and quality practices and coordinate trainings, audits, etc. Verify compliance with established federal, state, and local regulations and company policies. Must be willing to travel to company locations and jobsites throughout the U.S.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and implement a health and safety management program for each operating company with the support of Tuckahoe’s Risk Management Vision.
Measure health and safety compliance at each operating company and report to Tuckahoe’s management regularly.
Train and develop the health and safety knowledge among managers, supervisors, and employees. Coordinate required federal and state OSHA training. Establish and make available safety and environmental training materials.
Ensure consistency of the health and safety orientation for all new employees including pre-employment drug screening. Assist HR in collecting new hire packet.
Represent all operating companies to our clients on matters of safety. Write site specific health and safety plans in coordination with Project Manager.
Review and track health and safety audits. Follow-up with each operating company to ensure the correction of noted deficiencies.
Serve as company expert in health and safety to be a resource of information to solve health and safety problems in field. Monitor compliance of the health and safety program in field and audit reports.
Conduct health and safety assessments for prospective business units.
Monitor compliance with testing and recording all potential unsafe environmental conditions such as air quality, noise levels, and chemical exposures.
Assist in the management of the insurance claim process to ensure appropriate payment and handling of all claims. Investigate/coordinate the investigation of all accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine cause and method of prevention. Assist in the implementation of the appropriate corrective action. Determine causation for all auto accidents.
Represent company to Construction Manager clients, OSHA and other compliance officers during field inspections and for any health safety citation. Attend WC and OSHA hearings with company counsel.
Company representation to business community for industry safety programs. Responsible to build and maintain the standing and reputation of Tuckahoe Holdings in the community.
Create detailed and accurate project tasks and schedules while interfacing with project team members and other support personnel, solving project-related conflicts and issues.
Develop and promote implementation of best practice across all business units.
Keep current on all new legislative policies, Tuckahoe Holdings’ policies and procedures, and current industry trends. Keep personnel informed of any new or changes in local, state, or federal environmental guidelines or laws.
Assist with compiling, copying and distribution of DOT, OSHA reports and DOT Driver Qualification Files as needed.
Assists and directly works with a team of logistics coordinators/distribution leads, administrative assistants, and CDL drivers.
Establish and report metrics, indicating regulatory and quality compliance.
Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; at least eight years of experience. Knowledge of general industry health and safety and quality regulations for compliance. Experience with public speaking to groups for training.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Travel Requirements
To perform this job successfully an individual should have the means and ability to travel on a flexible schedule. Travel is anticipated to be approximately 50%, with occasional non-regional travel, and occasional increases in travel demands based on business needs.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Requires mobility to travel locally or nationally.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Majority of time is spent in an office environment. Occasional time in a production or warehouse environment may be required to meet operating company needs. May be located remotely, with proximity to a major airport.
