This role will report to a facility that is convenient to the following geographies: Robinson Township, PA, Steubenville, OH, Follansbee, WV, Wheeling, WV, Burgettstown, PA. If you apply, you should be proximate to said geographies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Chief Executive Officer

An ideal candidate would also have 10 years of non-profit healthcare experience with behavioral healthcare experience preferred.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Academic Training

Masters and/or doctoral degree in the behavioral sciences the degree must have been received from a regionally accredited college and/or university. Fundamental understanding of accounting, finance, and marketing is necessary.

Professional Experience

A minimum of (10) years experience of executive level management in a private and/or public behavioral health agency or program with profit/loss responsibility for the same.

Position Summary:

Chief Executive Officer is responsible for directing the business with the objective of providing maximum profit and return on invested capital consistent with the Agency's mission; establishing current and long-range objectives, plans and policies subject to the approval of the Board of Directors; and representing the Agency with its major customers, the financial community and the public.

Position Responsibility:
  1. With the advice of the members of senior management, develops the basic objectives, policies and operating plans of the business; submits to the Board of Directors for approval.
  2. Ensures that the Agency's policies are uniformly understood and properly interpreted and administered by subordinates; reviews and approves proposed internal policies of subordinate units.
  3. Ensures that adequate plans for future development and growth of the Agency's business are prepared, and participates in their preparation; periodically presents such plans for general review and approval by the Board of Directors.
  4. At specified intervals, presents proposed operating and capital expenditure budgets for review and approval by the Board of Directors.
  5. With the advance knowledge and approval of the Board of Directors, plans and directs all investigations and negotiations pertaining to mergers, joint ventures, the acquisition of businesses, or the sale of major assets.
  6. Analyzes operating results of the Agency and its principal components relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  7. Ensures that adequacy and soundness of the company's financial structure, review projections of the company's working capital requirements. Negotiates and otherwise arranges for any outside financing that may be indicated.
  8. Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the company.
  9. Prescribes the specific limitations of the authority of subordinates regarding policies, contractual commitments, expenditures, and personnel actions. Reviews and approves the appointment, employment transfer or termination of all key management employees.
  10. Ensures the adequacy and proper utilization of the services provided by the corporate staff unites and resolves and conflicts arising between operating groups, staff units, and other elements under immediate supervision.
  11. Plans for the development of personnel resources within the company and maintains programs which will encourage successful future management of the Agency's business.
  12. Represents the Agency as appropriate in its relationships with major customers, suppliers, competitors, bankers, government agencies, professional societies and similar groups.
