Position Overview:
The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience within the construction sector and possess a strategic mindset to help guide our financial health and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
Manage all general accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, job cost analysis, and reconciliations.
Develop and monitor budgets, cash flow, and forecasts for multiple projects.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, state, and federal regulations.
Provide strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
Implement and improve internal controls and financial systems.
Collaborate with project managers to track job costs, billings, and profitability.
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
Manage external audits and tax preparation with third-party professionals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
5+ years of financial leadership experience within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and construction project accounting.
