Position Details
As a Project Manager (IRS ALS II) - Software Projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of software development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will work closely with development teams, stakeholders, and clients to define project goals, manage resources, mitigate risks, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution:
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all projects are aligned with organizational goals and timelines.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Lead cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, quality assurance engineers, and business analysts.
Foster a collaborative environment, providing direction and motivation to project teams.
Conduct regular project meetings, including stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on goals, timelines, and issues.
Manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Risk & Issue Management:
Proactively identify project risks, issues, and potential roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies.
Resolve conflicts and issues, ensuring minimal impact to project timelines and quality.
Ensure all project risks and issues are effectively communicated and addressed.
Budget & Resource Management:
Oversee project budgets and ensure that projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
Allocate and manage resources efficiently, balancing project needs with team availability.
Quality Assurance & Delivery:
Ensure high standards of software quality and performance are met through rigorous testing and validation.
Review deliverables to ensure they meet project requirements and are of the highest quality.
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure successful product launches.
Continuous Improvement:
Implement best practices for project management processes and methodologies.
Drive process improvements to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Maintain a focus on continuous learning, both personally and for the team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Clearance: MBI Clearance
Experience:
At least 5-7 years of experience in project management within the software development industry.
Proven experience in managing end-to-end software development projects, from ideation to deployment.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
Familiarity with project management tools (JIRA, Trello, Asana, MS Project, etc.).
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of software development processes and life cycles.
Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of system architecture, software design, and testing processes is a plus.
Certifications (optional but preferred):
PMP (Project Management Professional)
Scrum Master certification a Plus
Agile, Lean, or other relevant project management certifications.
