Purpose
Responsible for providing strategic direction for planning for the production operation in accordance with the vision and values of the corporation.
Key Responsibilities
Total plant inventory control. Must have knowledge, at all times, as to the exact material on plant site as well as incoming inventory.
Provide and maintain all production schedules for process and finishing lines
Responsible for meeting operating and business objectives
Ability to facilitate adjustments to production schedules to accommodate changes to client orders and/or changes in production capacity
Responsible for driving site profitability and productivity through efficient and effective operating programs and processes for product scheduling
Support quality assurance program to increase productivity and decrease defect rates
Ensure compliance with all standards and programs (safety, environmental, quality, and manufacturing policies and procedures)
Address and correct issues that arise during the confirmation process at the facility and verifying that the overall inventory levels are correct
Collaborate with sales & operations for variance management, strategy execution and scheduling
Monitor downgrade production daily and adjust production schedule to cover shortfalls and to prevent/minimize overrun of product
Direct daily production to ensure production meets delivery schedules
Assist in managing production department budget and participate in forecasting activities to ensure sales targets are met and mill efficiencies are maintained

Required Qualifications
Associates degree in business or manufacturing and two (2) to five (5) years' experience in manufacturing supervisory work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
Knowledge of manufacturing and continuous improvement processes

Ability to effectively manage time and resources
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiently operate computer and supporting software programs

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors' degree in engineering, business or wood science
