The California Health Collaborative (Collaborative) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization committed to enhancing the quality of life and health of the people of California, particularly the underserved and underrepresented. Founded in 1982, the Collaborative has multiple offices throughout California, including Fresno, Hanford, Visalia, Chico, San Bernardino, and Sacramento, serving residents throughout the state.
Our mission is to change lives by improving health & wellness. The Collaborative implements community-based health promotion and disease prevention programs, including public health surveillance systems and various capacity-building and networking activities. The Collaborative is committed to addressing the health needs of Californians with special emphasis on underserved communities with limited access to resources or who face barriers related to culture, language, income, education, gender, geography, or immigration status. About the Opportunity:
With a committed and passionate professional staff and a strong board of directors, the CEO will effectuate continued positive changes that ensure the ongoing work and success of the Collaborative. The CEO must have high integrity, a strong fiduciary track record, and be mission-focused with a record of achievement and results. The ideal CEO will be able to promote our organization's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; possess organizational leadership skills, interest in fundraising and development, and a strategic vision; and have experience working with a professional Board of Directors. The CEO must also have experience in fiscal and operational oversight and brand advancement.
Key Qualifications:
A passion for public health and wellness and a mission-driven organization
A strategic thinker who is able to execute both long-term and short-term goals and action plans with the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership of the organization
Experience in working with a formal professional Board of Directors and effective in recruiting new board members
Experience and knowledge of healthcare and managed care (including CalAIM and/or CBO) environments
Is a consensus and team builder and able mentor and coach when working with professional staff and volunteers
Able to garner and earn the trust of the organization and the community by representing the Collaborative
Able to attract and retain talent and be able to build strong and sustainable relationships
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion fosters our continued organizational culture of accessibility and welcoming
Master's Degree (highly desirable) in Public Health, Health Administration, or equivalent and at least 7-10 years experience working in a non-profit organization
Possesses strong professional ethics and integrity that reflect positively on our mission and the organization, and is a passionate champion for our mission
Willing to travel as necessary and in support of CHC professional staff at multiple locations throughout California
Experience and willingness to engage in fund-raising, including, but not limited to, the cultivation of sustainable philanthropy, are highly desirable.
Data-driven leader and comfortable with engaging in a digital and AI-related enterprise
Compensation and Benefits:
CHC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Salary commensurate with experience ranges from $180K to $220K. This position can be hybrid and, as appropriate and business needs demand, work from various CHC office sites.
Screening and Assessment: Stacy Nelson and Associates will schedule interviews with qualified candidates. Qualified candidates will be asked to complete a more detailed assessment following the initial screening.
