We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager to add support to the existing Project Management team with a client in the banking/ finance space. With multiple ongoing and upcoming projects surrounding core and ancillary systems, we are seeking a driven professional to ensure their successful execution. This role requires strong project management expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams. A background in finance or lending is preferred.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of multiple (3-5) projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
Oversee projects related to both core systems and ancillary systems, driving them from inception to completion.
Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and business units to facilitate effective communication and project alignment.
Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, demonstrating an ability to discuss technical topics with confidence.
Identify potential process inefficiencies, push back on misaligned priorities, and suggest actionable improvements to stakeholders.
Apply strong project management methodologies to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and manage resources effectively.
Leverage a financial background to bring relevant insights to projects, particularly in lending (mortgage, business, consumer) where applicable.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in project management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and timelines.
Ability to work closely with technical teams, demonstrating a "technical adjacent" skillset and an understanding of technical concepts.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge and guide business units as needed.
Familiarity with financial concepts, particularly lending, is highly desirable.
PMP or similar certifications are a plus but not required.
