Demonstrated ability to optimize and execute immunoassays, such as MSD/ELISA/Luminex, and multi-color flow cytometry

Daily Responsibilities/Job Description: • Solve problems with End-User instrument operations and improve their skills in all aspects of instrument function. • Provide experiment setup and aid resolve experiment setup, design, and operation issues • Performs guidance with routine, moderate, and complex analysis for assay specimens in accordance with assay specific gating guides (GG) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including QC • Participate in routine quality investigations, and process effectiveness verifications • Responds to queries, communications, and workflows with labs to ensure consistency and timely resolution • Contributes to troubleshooting and process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs, or reduce turnaround times • Assist with Maintaining laboratory stocks of supplies and reagents • Become familiar with relevant software used in the facility and assist facility users in learning to use this software • Demonstrates appropriate use of relevant equipment after training • Understand common and unique biological applications, cell handling techniques, and reagents used by researchers • Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment
Qualifications/years of experience: • BA/BS degree in physical or biological science or a related science and 3 or more years of recent, directly related work experience OR • Associate's Degree in life science or other relevant discipline and 5 years' Assay Development experience in a laboratory environment OR • High School Degree/GED with 10 years' Assay Development experience in a laboratory environment.
Must Haves: • Demonstrated ability to optimize and execute immunoassays, such as MSD/ELISA/Luminex, and multi-color flow cytometry. • Experience with biospecimen processing, including handling and processing of blood, primary cells, and/or tissues. • Experience with the development of in vitro cellular assays. • Understanding of how the flow cytometer and FACS instruments work. • Willingness to learn from others, taking initiative and being open to iteration. • Ability to accurately and efficiently execute laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Dedication to diligent record-keeping to ensure accurate documentation of experiments and results. • Attention to detail and understanding of the basic laboratory environment • Excellent organizational skills; ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently • Ability to follow oral and written directions
Additional Requirements: • Proficiency in using software tools such as Prism, FlowJo, Microsoft Office, and Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) for data analysis and documentation. • Experience or knowledge in immunology research is desirable. • Support and troubleshoot hardware and software on liquid handlers, bulk dispensers, plate readers and other integrated automated systems • Experience with Operating and maintaining the lab equipment a plus • Three or more years of experience with one or more of the following instrumentation systems: Sony SH800 FACS, BD FACSAria / BD Fusion, BD Symphony, Cytek Aurora, ACEA Novocyte • Experience in working with and/or designing flow cytometry panels (<10 colors)
