Position Overview:
The Head of Medical Affairs will be a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing BostonGene's medical affairs, while also driving sales growth and fostering business development opportunities. This role will ensure scientific and clinical integrity across our offerings while collaborating closely with sales teams to expand our presence in the oncology and diagnostic markets. The ideal candidate will have both deep medical expertise and a strong track record in business development, with a focus on achieving commercial goals in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical and Sales Strategy: Lead the design and execution of BostonGene's medical affairs and sales strategy to align with corporate goals, ensuring both scientific rigor and commercial success.
Sales Leadership: Partner closely with sales teams to identify new opportunities, generate leads, and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders in academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth by leveraging clinical and scientific expertise in the oncology space, working with cross-functional teams to translate scientific value into commercial success.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, commercial, and regulatory teams to ensure the successful launch and integration of new products and solutions, supporting both clinical use and market adoption.
Operational Excellence: Establish standardized workflows to streamline cross-functional collaboration with R&D, sales, and regulatory teams, ensuring timely delivery of projects and initiatives.
Compliance and Regulatory Support: Ensure all medical affairs activities are compliant with CLIA, CAP, NYS and other regulatory bodies, while aligning with ethical standards.
Market Insights: Provide continuous feedback to the senior leadership team on market trends, competitor activity, and potential opportunities for growth, contributing to overall sales strategy.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, or PharmD preferred) with a background in oncology, molecular biology, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in medical affairs, with at least 3 years in a leadership role driving business development and sales growth.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects at the intersection of science, medicine, and business.
Experience partnering with academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical clients to drive collaborations and sales.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience presenting scientific value to non-scientific audiences, including business executives.
Demonstrated success in hitting or exceeding revenue targets and aggressive sales goals.
Familiarity with the regulatory landscape for diagnostics and personalized medicine solutions.
