Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Summary:
The Fiber Optics and Low-Voltage Integrations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic and low-voltage systems, ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in fiber optics, network cabling, low-voltage systems, and supervisory skills to manage a team effectively. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-oriented, and skilled in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. CAD proficiency a plus, for creating and reviewing technical drawings, optimizing workflows, and improving system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and lead a team of technicians in fiber optics and low-voltage integration projects, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to deadlines.
Oversee the planning, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic and low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, CCTV, access control, and audio-visual systems.
Conduct site assessments, develop project plans, and coordinate resources to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
Review project drawings and specifications; proficiency in CAD is preferred to facilitate project review and ensure accurate interpretation of technical details.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
Perform quality control inspections and troubleshoot issues related to fiber optics and low-voltage equipment.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to provide updates, clarify technical requirements, and address any project-related concerns.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements and integrate best practices into operational procedures.
Prepare and submit reports on project progress, team performance, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fiber optics and low-voltage system installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Education: Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, FOA) are a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficient in fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting; skilled in low-voltage systems such as CCTV, access control, and structured cabling. Proficiency in CAD is preferred for reviewing and interpreting project drawings.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently and within a team setting.
Certifications: Valid driver's license; certifications in OSHA 10/30, BICSI, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
Work Environment:
Work may require travel to various job sites and could include working evening and weekends, working in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally work in physically demanding conditions.
