We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Alarm Field Technician to join our team. This role involves providing technical expertise and support for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of fire safety technologies, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the effective operation and safety compliance of fire alarm systems, contributing to the safety and security of our clients' facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with contractors and clients throughout the installation process of fire alarm systems.
Perform system commissioning, including loading software, implementing modifications, and ensuring proper system functionality.
Conduct routine testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems as part of ongoing service agreements.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network hardware, software, and system integration.
Identify and address code violations and non-conformance issues, offering solutions to improve system installations and functionality.
Provide recommendations for fire alarm system installations and maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Generate detailed daily reports using company software, documenting completed tasks, deferred actions, and issues requiring follow-up.
Participate in emergency on-call assignments on a rotating schedule, ensuring prompt resolution of critical issues.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Electronics, Fire Safety, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the installation and maintenance of low-voltage electronic systems.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
NICET Level I certification in Fire Alarm Systems (or equivalent) is required; additional certifications (e.g., NICET Level II or Siemens Fire Alarm Equipment) are a plus.
Proficient in troubleshooting fire alarm systems, network hardware, and software.
Strong understanding of industry codes, regulations, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and blueprints.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Proficiency with PC applications and software tools in a client/server environment.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights (up to 40 feet) using a lift.
