Elford, Inc. has an opening for a Field Engineer in the Field Operations department.The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role requires hands-on field work, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel to achieve project goals safely and efficiently. The Field Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining quality control, managing resources, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
Assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in daily project coordination and planning.
Provide technical support to field operations, helping resolve design or construction issues.
Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to project plans.
Conduct field surveys and collect data to support project designs.
Implement quality control and safety standards throughout construction phases.
Monitor work on-site to ensure compliance with project standards, building codes, and specifications.
Inspect and test materials, equipment, and work to verify adherence to project requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in construction or field engineering, preferably in a similar role.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in the construction industry.
Knowledge of project scheduling and management software is a plus (e.g., MS Project, Procore, AutoCAD).
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work on-site, with occasional extended hours or weekend shifts, as needed.
