We are seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team, overseeing building systems, infrastructure, and preventative maintenance. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Serve as a proactive leader and role model, promoting our client's vision, mission, and service philosophy.
Support and develop team supervisors through regular communication, feedback, and quarterly growth (GROW) conversations.
Build a culture of safety, continuous learning, and professional growth for all team members.
Operational Excellence
Oversee operations and maintenance in compliance with all relevant standards (DNV NIAHO, OSHA, fire codes, etc.).
Develop and implement performance metrics, including service quality indicators and customer satisfaction measures.
Conduct regular facility audits and engage with customers to ensure high-quality, efficient service.
Budgeting & Resource Planning
Manage operating budgets, approve expenditures, and track expenses with a focus on fiscal responsibility.
Lead capital planning efforts, coordinating with subject matter experts to prioritize system replacements and infrastructure needs.
Prepare cost-benefit analyses and visual materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations) for project justifications and budget requests.
Strategic & Emergency Planning
Drive long-term operational strategies to optimize building systems and infrastructure.
Plan for campus emergencies and play a key role in emergency response and preparedness exercises.
Stay ahead of industry trends and network with peer facilities to ensure best practices.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or related field (or equivalent experience and certifications).
10+ years of progressive leadership in:
Managing operations/maintenance in healthcare facilities (aging and modern infrastructure).
Leading unionized teams and negotiating service contracts.
Strategic planning, customer service improvement, and project delivery.
Proven ability to:
Make independent decisions and solve complex problems.
Prepare and manage budgets, track expenses, and report on key metrics.
Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
Proficiency in software applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and databases).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA).
Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) or equivalent.
Experience managing operations in large, accredited healthcare facilities (>500 beds).
Direct project management experience with budgets over $100k in a healthcare setting.
Expertise in life cycle cost analysis, deferred maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs.
Work Environment
Primarily an indoor office setting with regular building/site inspections.
Must be available for after-hours emergencies (e.g., power outages, floods) and participate in on-call rotations.
