We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will oversee the operational, safety, and maintenance needs of Pipe Services International warehouse and building facilities. This role is integral to managing all aspects of facility operations, including infrastructure, compliance, resource allocation, and project management. The right candidate must possess flexibility and an attitude suitable to an all-hands-on deck atmosphere. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to supervise internal and external team members, while ensuring that all facility systems operate smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Operations Management • Supervises the operation, maintenance, and repair of all facility components under purview, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, audio/visual equipment, life safety equipment, kitchen equipment, appliances and components, furniture, and related systems. • Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and participates in the work of staff/vendors responsible for facility maintenance, monitoring work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. • Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance, repairs, and other facility-related services.
Maintenance and Repairs • Proficiently uses hand tools, equipment, and a variety of machines safely and efficiently to assist with and/or supervise repair tasks or general maintenance. • Develops and organizes preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs and procedures for the facility and equipment under their purview. • Maintain inventory of critical parts and preventative maintenance line items, advising management of purchasing requirements.
Safety and Compliance • Coordinates training in facility maintenance, safety methods, procedures, and techniques for staff and contractors to ensure proper use of equipment. • Maintain accurate records of compliance, inspections, and safety incidents. • This position ensures a safe work environment, compliance with all governing regulations and optimum performance of the equipment and the people.
Team Leadership and Collaboration • Provide leadership, which results in positive employee/employer relations and project a professional corporate image. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety departments, to align facility goals with organizational objectives. • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to effectively and efficiently accomplish mission. Interviews and recommends applicants for hire. • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
5 to 8 years of proven experience in facility management, particularly in a warehouse or industrial setting.
Skills:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Good understanding of electricity and able to communicate to the license electricians.
Mechanical understanding of general plumbing.
Understanding of lifting equipment, cranes, and forklifts.
General knowledge of equipment such as motors and pumps.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
