Under moderate supervision, the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager will support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across five manufacturing plants in the United States and Mexico. This role requires a bilingual Spanish-English speaker who can collaborate effectively with diverse teams across multiple locations. The CI Manager will work closely with department leads, plant managers, and individual teams to assess current performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive strategies to enhance efficiency and operational excellence.
This position is integral to fostering a culture of continuous improvement while maintaining a focus on process improvements, customer satisfaction, and quality performance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Support Multi-Plant Continuous Improvement Efforts: Lead and facilitate CI initiatives aligned with the organization's goals across all five manufacturing facilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with department leaders and plant managers to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvement strategies tailored to each plant's unique challenges.
CI Program Development: Design and deliver training sessions to employees at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Project Leadership: Coordinate and oversee CI projects across multiple sites, ensuring consistent execution and alignment with business objectives.
Standardization of Best Practices: Collect and share successful CI practices across the U.S. and Mexico plants, promoting operational consistency.
Team Development: Mentor and train junior CI team members, empowering them with the skills to lead local improvement projects.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage statistical tools and financial analysis to identify root causes and develop impactful CI solutions.
Regional Collaboration: Partner with regional CI leaders to ensure uniform application of Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies across all sites.
Change Management Leadership: Act as a change management champion, ensuring smooth transitions and employee buy-in during process improvements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) is required.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma roles, with demonstrated success in a manufacturing environment.
Certifications: Green Belt certification is required; Black Belt is preferred. Lean Facilitator certification is a plus or must be obtained within 18 months.
Skills:
Strong bilingual (Spanish-English) communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to process improvement.
Excellent project management and team-building skills, with experience leading cross-functional CI projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working across multiple sites, especially in Mexico and the U.S.
Familiarity with CI methodologies in mid-sized manufacturing plants (under $500M revenue).
