What are we looking for?
RadiusXR is seeking an accomplished Sr. Manager, Product Innovation & Market Development to lead the newly formed Discovery Center, a strategic R&D extension of our Product Management organization. This role will drive Radius' product discovery initiatives by conducting in-depth market research, understanding customer needs, assessing competitive landscapes, and identifying high-impact opportunities aligned with Radius' unique strengths. This leader will champion the process from idea assessment to MVP development, validating concepts that maximize growth potential and customer value.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Discovery Center R&D and Development Initiatives
Develop and implement structured processes for idea evaluation, aligning with strategic goals and fostering a data-driven approach to product discovery.
Lead research into unmet market needs, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to guide product and feature development.
Drive Market Research and Opportunity Assessment
Conduct thorough market research, including stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, and opportunity mapping, to identify and prioritize product opportunities that leverage Radius' strengths.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and refine product concepts, ensuring alignment with customer needs and long-term growth objectives.
Facilitate Product Evaluation and Leadership Alignment
Implement a rigorous assessment framework to evaluate new product ideas based on potential impact, feasibility, and strategic fit.
Present well-researched business cases to leadership, securing buy-in and necessary resources for MVP development and testing.
Oversee MVP Development and Market Fit Validation
Collaborate closely with development and design teams to guide the MVP creation process, ensuring the product addresses identified market needs and supports Radius's strategic direction.
Lead market fit validation for MVPs, iterating based on customer feedback and metrics to optimize product success and readiness for broader rollout.
Professional Experience:
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and operational skills, and must show sense of urgency, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Additional requirements include:
5+ years of experience in product management, market research, or product innovation roles.
5+ years of experience in developing medical devices or other technologies in healthcare for hospital systems and clinics.
Demonstrated success in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and product assessment, as well as building and launching MVPs.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or in business (e.g., Computer Science, MIS) or equivalent practical experience.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
Understanding of VR technology and its implementation in a medical setting is a plus.
Development and integration of medical devices / systems in the Ophthalmology and Optometry clinics is a plus.
Experience in working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems
Location: Preferably in Pleasanton, CA or remote with the ability to travel once a month.
