The Director of Harry Winston, Product Development, will oversee all new product development for both high jewelry and core collection items from conception to finished good. The Director is responsible for the leadership, management and development of staff. This position requires an innovative director to take the team to the next level while adhering to the utmost quality of luxury jewelry.
Specific Functions include:
Responsible for growing and coaching a highly motivated and talented product development team while leading them to successfully execute on the product roadmap
Oversee management of all projects, ensuring deadlines are met and jewelry is executed per design specifications and quality assurance guidelines
Introduce and promote technology enhancements for best manufacturing practices
Work closely with Design Director to ensure design concept is validate manufacturability
Work closely with Gem Acquisition Director to optimize workflow
Oversee engineering changes to existing models and implement accordingly
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliers
Review estimates on new projects
Negotiate final costs
Identify key performance indicators and set appropriate targets
Regularly analyze manufacturing performance data to identify areas of improvements

Job Qualifications:
Former management experience a must
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Hands on and pragmatic decision-maker
Strong project management skills
Minimum 15 years jewelry manufacturing experience
Must know how to use a microscope
Bench experience a plus; including Platinum and 18kt gold
Ability and expertise to handle unique and high value stones
Industry experience including Quality Assurance; Diamond and Gemstone grading
Proficient computer skills
Working knowledge of Rhino or similar CAD software
