Vaco is assisting a Trussville client looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will support the purchasing department in all procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchases while maintaining good relationships with suppliers. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and other procurement documents.
Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery timelines, and address any issues.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor details.
Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
Track shipments, ensure timely delivery, and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
Assist in evaluating supplier performance and making recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with purchasing software is a plus.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
