As a Group Copy Supervisor (GCS) you are responsible for the creative work produced by the Copy Supervisors and other personnel assigned to you. You will also contribute to their performance reviews, along with the Associate Creative Director (and/or Strategic Communications). Additionally, as a GCS, you are responsible for writing primary sales pieces, secondary "pick-up" pieces, and all other copy for jobs pertaining to your assigned account(s). You will participate in creative team concept sessions, help reference, and highlight copy, and attend all relevant internal product-related and creative meetings. You will also attend external client meetings and demonstrate leadership in new business and client presentations.
About the Job
Master a knowledge of your assigned brand(s) including the disease state, market, marketing/advertising strategy and tactical plan
Create effective and impactful creative copy that is strategically on target
Become familiar with therapeutic markets pertaining to your assigned brand(s) by reviewing journals, competitive ads, and article summaries
Participate fully in the strategic component of the development of creative briefs and job opening meetings
Motivate and foster a team atmosphere striving for excellence
Follow copy through agency/client process - review from original concept to finished piece
Understand the objective (client/account team rationale) for the tactical elements that they will be writing
Serve as a resource for the account team in solving creative problems
Serve as a resource for product information and its therapeutic area
Present, or supervise the presentation of, creative to the client
Monitor the workload of your assigned group/copywriters and inform the ACD of any recommended adjustments or remedies for workload distribution
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal agency members and client counterparts
Ensure accuracy and timelines of work in order to meet client expectations
Lead and adhere to client regulatory and approval process and prepare copy accordingly
Follow federal regulatory and legal guidelines for pharmaceutical promotional copy
Remain flexible and focused in an environment of changing circumstances
About You
Completed Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 5 years of copywriting experience
Ideally minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical copywriting experience in the managed markets space
Superior verbal and written communication skills, clear and concise
Skilled at presenting, both to client and agency personnel
Able to discuss and defend creative concepts to the brand creative team
Thorough understanding of current advertising strategies in the managed markets space
Possess a working knowledge of FDA guidelines and processes
Able to convert scientific market research information into compelling copy
Solutions oriented, skilled at recognizing problems and providing solutions in day-to-day creative development
Dependable and efficient, must complete assigned projects in a timely manner
Able to manage competing priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor
Possess an understanding that one's actions affects others and the agency as a whole and act accordingly

Salary
$115,000 - $160,000 annually.
